Then, consider this recent example at the Curve Surf Shop and factory, on the Gold Coast, home to the eclectic surf craft of shaper Dan MacDonald. Sitting in the racks side by side recently were this 4’6” mini-Simmons-style twin keel, and this 14 foot epoxy gun.

This gem of a book provides just about the best historical overview of surfing, and surf writing, you are likely to find anywhere. I came across it after reading a review somewhere (the Surfers Journal, maybe?) and then subsequently having it recommended to me by a colleague. Two mentions in the space of a month was enough to move me to order it from Amazon, and I’m glad I did.

By now I'm sure you would have heard the name Sally Fitzgibbons, if not then here is a sick little video showcasing just a few of the many achievements she has accomplished during her blossoming carrier.

I caught Reggie Watts play a gig at the Opera House last year, he is pretty awesome. A beatbox exprodinare who is acutally clever as well. This song is having a bit of a dig at cliche hip hop which I love but I also love when someone pokes fun at it as well. There is a little bit of a language warning with this clip so only play it to your little brother if mun isn't around.  - Matty G
